I finally found a hone in Thailand.
While driving home from a work seminar (most of which I managed to sleep through) the bus carrying myself and all the other teachers stopped at a little road side market. After buying copious amounts of sticky rice for my family this hone caught my eye. It cost a grand total of 70Baht which is less than $3.00 AUD. For that price if it turns out to be no good I haven't lost much. At a guess I think it might be similar in grit size to a norton 8K. But I'm just guessing. I'm not sure what sort of stone it is, but I think it might be either a granite or some sort of sand stone. It was on a shelf next to granite mortar and pessles so I'm assuming its granite too.
I'm planning to lap it this weekend and then see what it can do to the edge of a razor.
