I got this hone integrated with a piece that slides over that is a small strop. I sent it to Mr Neil Miller to be releathered (excellent job by the way). He lapped the hone and tried it and reckons it improves an 8k edge and that it is probably a vintage Thurry. I had previously thought it was synthetic before he had lapped it, due to its markings and smell, but after being lapped it is apparent that it is a natural. I have tried an edge off it and it is very nice.

Question is, have you seen thurries like it?
