Hey all! I just picked this up on Ebay and was wondering if this will be good enough as a 1st hone or if I just bought something for my kitchen knives. :) If it'll work, all I need to do is find a strop and then I'll be in business! :y

The dish in that stone as well as the label suggests its made for safety razor blades.

I didn't notice it at first, but yeah, the picture does show a V down the middle. :( I picked up my first straight at an antique store ( :D ) so I'll give it a shot on the bottom if it's flat.
Read the box in the pics, friend.
It has directions for both SE/DE and straight use... and yes, straight use is to use the bottom. It's pretty small for a straight razor, but it should work until you feel the need to upgrade and you can't argue with that price. Good luck.
