The slurry is maroon colored, hey thats me!
We can more or less confirm it's Belgian Blue Whetstone backed. Now......
Does the BBW have a well defined separation from the coticule layer or obvious evidence of being bonded to the coticule like this?

Nice find. The first guy who showed me a coticule recommended water but said that Olive oil was ok. Two of my razors seem to like lather though the rest water is good. I first misread the 'lather' on the instructions as 'ether'. Hmm, I thought, that's a new one:).
