FWIW, I bought a Muller Thuringan from a forum member a long time back. I already had labeled Eschers and didn't really mess with it much. It is a dark blue and came with a slurry stone.
Then not long ago I read this review here by Russel Baldridge. He hasn't posted in some time but was quite active in the honing section awhile back and was considered , by me anyway, to be very knowledgeable on the subject of hones and honing.
So I got out the Muller and went to work honing a couple of razors (finishing) and was very pleased with the results. Tony Miller was importing and selling Thuringans for awhile but decided that too many of what came in to him had hard inclusions and he suspended the importing and sales of them. So IME if you get as good a one as I ended up it will deliver the goods if you know what you're doing. OTOH, check the stone for inclusions.
They all have pyrite inclusions that cause no problems. Some also have harder inclusions that do cause problems. I check them before sending them to buyers. I have had to return up to 25% to the distributor for replacements.
