2 sided Escher - is there such a stone?
I recently acquired a new Escher, which prior to lapping looked like any other grey Escher, although the typical red box has a black sticker which very faintly reads 'Barber's delight.'
One side had a couple of ruts, the other I assumed was the side to be used. After lapping both sides, one is grey with a few tiny black speckles and a couple of feint veins, the other a dark grey, almost dark blue colour.
Is there any chance this is like a natural coti combo? I have heard of blue Eschers - perhaps they are from the same quarry that Escher mined as a separate vein?
I have not a clue, I will post pics tomorrow. In the mean time I am curious to know more about this rock.
