Robert! That is just brilliant! The perfect base for a paddle strop! No chance of warping at all! Finally, another use for a Carborundum in addition to being great for axes, lawnmower blades and building foundations for skyscrapers.:)

I haven't honed on a Hugo before. Do you strip the paint first or just let it wear away ? :confused:

Carborundum... Great for setting the bevel on an ax.
I am sure it will get used.
Someone suggested gluing leather to it.
A better idea is to glue a magnetic base.

Jimmy! I am surprised at you. Of course you use it with paint on, the paint pigments are minerals! and green is chrome oxide!:)

Only if its a red Yugo! The paint pigment for red is iron oxide and we all know that is to coarse! get a green one!:)
