That is relatively normal size for CF. Does the sides have sawing marks, grinding marks or nothing? The reason why I am asking is that lately I saw few hones eith grinding marks simmilar to DT when it comes from the workshop and as CF did not use to be cut in past (more like hacked and flattened with sand). This could help me to get answer about the time the hone was made.
All sides are smooth, straight, and square, except for the ends. They are cut like / \ if you are looking down at the top.
Thank you. Very interesting. I am looking forward to see it lapped and tested.
As soon as the Helmsman poly dries on what is left of the label I'll finish lapping it down.
It's lapped! Well, only the top and I really cleaned up the side. If you will notice there are brown specks and different stuff going on that I haven't seen before. Now maybe you guys can help me out a little more:

Looks to me like a Tam O Shanter, especially the last picture. A bit like this one: http://straightrazorpalace.com/hones...tml#post446305 just not as heavily spotted.
You're welcome, that thread helped me recognize mine as well.
