Default My barber hone, please advise

i picked up this barber hone at the flea market for $1.00 this last weekend.
it was heavily cupped in the middle on both sides. I managed to flatten one side on my sidewalk, then a little honing with wet sandpaper.

can anyone half way identify it? I am trying to figure out if it would be a good finishing stone to use after my Norton 4k/8k or would the 8k norton be better to use last.

What makes you think it is a barber hone?

Hmm. I guess I don't know. Just assumed, it is very smooth.

    Would it still work?

You would have to try it and see for yourself. I have absolutely no idea what it is.

If this is a Washita & it does look like it, you would not use it after 4k let alone 8k. It is the coarse grade of Arkansas type stones.

Bite the bullet and go onto E-Bay and buy a Swaty hone for about $22 American, save a lot of work and you know when you put a STr8 on it is won't ruin any metal. IMHO, thanks for readin'!!
