give it a try and let us know how it is, I think it is possible to tell a difference.

I have a dovo i will test it of the coti , i'm sure it will be fine, i'll try escher next and tets and then j nat. With the escher how do you use it? light to water, or just water or just slurry i was going to go misty slurry to water for finish, just how i'd use j ant?
Well, I find just water or a very light slurry diluting to water on the Escher is all I need.
I don't know if this is old school or not, but I finish on my finest grit stone, and progress up to it from coarsest to finest. So my Jnat comes after the escher in my progression.
James.
just how i see it just light slurry or water wel both, seem not to harm, i find using slurry, changes the edge to that stone and polisher that bit quiker, and i like the use of slurry. I agree with what you say and it makes sense to go escher j nat.
As it turns out, my next Jnat is an Oozuku after all--just purchased! :D :D :D :D :D Level 5+ and an absolute beauty to boot! Can. Not. Wait. Big thanks to Maksim!
Ozuku lv 5+
I just the other day visited the Umegahata area and have written up a pretty interesting blog that includes some photos, one of which is a sign to the Ozuku, Oozuku or as my wife reads it Ohzuku Mine. The blog is at TheJapanBlade for any and all those interested. Alx

You have a nice way of telling a story. I had a good read! Thank you for sharing with us :)
Really nice blog, Alex! Found the Nakayama "mine entrance" as it were on the map site you link to! ;) Do you know if there are any pics of other mine entrances/tailings piles, etc anywhere on the interwebs? I figured they would be all fenced off, but maybe somebody took photos... I found one pic, claiming to be inside the Nakayama mine taken by a high volume dealer we generally don't mention by name here, but otherwise not much.
My Oozuku came today!!!! :) Had to leave 5 min after the DHL guy showed up to go shoot a fireworks show, but had time to chamfer the tomonagura. Can't wait to start playing with it! Just for fun, has anyone gone straight from a Norton to one of these (mine's level 5+, so super hard & fine)? I was planning to use my coticule as a prepolisher first, but I want to try direct once just to see.
