Pictured below is what I believe to be the Black Escher. The label on the back is beyond being legible. It is consistent with the glue and style of Escher labels even extending past the edge of the stone and curling up on the end. This is not a dark blue Escher. I have one. The slurry is indicative of the Thuringia Escher stones.

The scratch pattern is the same as the Yellow Green Escher pictured side by side. The size is the same. It came from Germany. This stone is harder than the Yellow Green Escher pictured. More important is the final finish it puts on a str8 razor. It is similar to a Barbers Delight maybe slightly finer. Regardless, this is an extremely fine final finisher that I am happy to own.
