Striped iyoto. Just got it, haven't had a chance to play yet.
That's pretty enough I wouldn't care if it worked or not!! :D Just set it with the others to spruce up the gang!!
Yep, I agree, that's a great looking stone. I recently got this narutaki

and when my SO saw it, she asked if it would make my razors extra sharp. I replied "Who cares? If it looks this good it doesn't have to work." She walked away mumbling again. :) I guess we are an odd lot to get excited about old pieces of rock.

I am really, really enjoying this thread.
Performs very well. Cuts very fast with diamond plate slurry or I use an aoto tomo. Definite keeper IMO. Cuts with slurry like a 2k but leaves like 5k scratches.
Here's my meager entry into the club :) Aoto - Ozuku - Amakusa (for knives...tried it once on a razor with not very good results) then Asano nagura (botan through koma) and whatever the tomonagura from Maksim is. Since getting in the Jnat game, I have fallen back in love with honing. My results have been fantastic and seem to get better with each session.

First stone was bought as Nakayama Maruka from Takeshi. If it is or isn't I couldn't tell you, very hard and glass feeling, didn't scratch Sheffield steel with water only. The second is unknown mine. Very fine, not too hard, does self slurry with pressure. Nailed one yesterday with an iromono tomo and some jito uchigumori. Delivered a great shave. And chu nagura. Nice koma like feel although doesn't break as fast or as completely as Koma.
