I am new to SRS and have only recently got my sr, strop and brush + creams etc. I realise I will need a hone at some stage, probably sooner rather than later. I found what I think is a hone in my dads old tool box and am wondering if I can restore it and use it. It is beige in color(but pretty grubby) and has a P on it with a fish through the gap in the P. Under this it has PIKE written. There is also a caption that says "norton abrasives" just to the right of the P, it could be enclosed in the outline of a knife, I'm not sure as it is very hard to read. The hone is not in great condition as the tool box has been its home for at least 25 years if not more and could be a lot more. My dad passed on over 20 years ago so I can not ask him. I would hope someone could identify it and if it can be used as a razor hone give me a few pointers as to wheather it could be restored and used. The stone is 20x5x2.5. I enclose some pics:
