Coticule paddle strop?

I just received a Torrey paddle strop and one of the sides appears to be yellow stone with pink bits imbedded. The handle is stamped Patented June 6, 82. The box says "When razor is dull use 1&2 Ordinarily use 3 &4".There is a paddle strop within a paddle strop. The inner most has this strange very thin stone glued to one side and the other side appears to be very thin leather like a chamois. This slides into a two sided strop which in turn slides into a storage box. The outside strops are like suede and one side has a black substance rubbed in. Lapped the stone is soft and brings up a pinkish white slurry. Could this be a very thin yellow coticule? I will post photos when the light is better.

Well I just worked up an edge. Seems very much like my 8K Norton with just water maybe slightly more coarse. With slurry it is significantly more coarse. It seems faster than the Norton but I know the Norton better so it would take time for me to see how closely I can mirror it with this new stone. After looking at online photos all night I am 90% certain it is a yellow coti but I am a beginner so being right can often be hit or miss. Photo to follow in the daylight.

Yep, that's a Coticule. The dark areas may be BBW coming through.

i have the same strop, and yes im pretty sure its a coticule..
as far as the leather side goes, one side seems glassy smooth, and the other side seems like suede perhaps.

Try the coticule without slurry, just with some water on it; it will behave like a finer hone then.
