British Green hone.

As promised from the other thread about my Salmen Yellow Lake. Here are photos of my new.....hmmmm, cutlers'ish green hone.... Just kidding, although it was described this way to me and to be honest I had never heard of one until after I spoke of it in the forums, I would like to know what it is, but understand now that C.G. Is hyped..

Here is the story I know. It was purchased by AJ who purchased it from some 90 year old British Fellow, the original size was something like 4x10. A fellow SRP member had it cut down to 2 inches wide and a slurry stone, I did some trading for it...

I will tell you my opinion. Regardless of the type. I really love this stone, the feedback and feel of it is simply awesome, if I had my eyes closed I would swear I was honing on the 4k side of my norton. Most of my naturals just have decent feedback or just 'ok'. This one is perfect in every way. Slurry or not. I would say its around 5000. As it just barely makes the 4k norton bevel a ittle shinier, but does not start polishing the bevel like when you jump to 8k ... Would I recommend it over a norton 4k. No.... Unless your just into naturals like me. I think it's a great equivalent. I just Wish it was its original size. I would love to find one larger.
