Bevel question
Should the bevel on both sides of my blade be equal? For instance if I have a razor and on one side the bevel is 1/8 of an inch all the way across the blade and the other side is 1/16 of an inch (these aren't actual measurements just a frame of reference to prove my point) should I go back and work on the 1/16 of an inch side only until it matches the other, or does all that matter is that it comes to a point evenly? I have another one that the bevel line is a little higher in the middle than it is near the heel and tip, should I keep honing until it is even all the way across? Its not a frown because the actual edge of the blade is flat when I put it on a flat surface I can see no light. They both shave well, but I was just wondering if the uniformity of the line is something I should work for. These are all older razors I got to practice honing on.
