Thanked: 8Boker coticules
I was perusing a knife magazine and saw their reference to Belgian blue and yellow coticules offered by Boker. Has anyone tried them? $99 for blue 8x2.5x0.75" and $140 for a slightly smaller yellow. Doesn't seem too bad if they're good quality.

Coticules come in a wide variety of grades. These are natural stones. I would not suggest a knife hone for a razor. I have had a coticule that should never touch a razor, but would probably work fine for knives.

All coticules vary in hardness but Maurice from Ardennes emailed me directly and told me all coticules are suitable for razors. They vary in hardness which can take different methods to achieve a fine eniugh finish. That came from the man himself...food for thought.
