Here is everything you'd want to know if you were afraid to ask .....

It's probably cheaper from the Polish ebay seller.
I guess I'm curious what goes into the thinking about having a 'natural' finisher.
That particular stone - like any other natural - is going to vary in suitability for razors from horrid to wonderful. IIRC, the honorable sixgunner had to buy 4 before getting one that satisfied.
Mine's middle of the road, though it has most of the veining thought to be preferred. There's nothing it does as well as a Nani 12k.
I'm betting there's 20-50 guys here that have a similar experience. If your heart is set on it - nothing else will do. But otherwise, sixgunner's wonderful description that synthetics are a science, naturals are a romance (with all the ups and downs) has proven very true.
Who determined that the C12K is 12k? I have a couple, are good stones but the need in me to be exact made me get a 12K shapton pro.
Never use the naturals anymore at the 12K level.
i ordered the three welsh stone set in the end off ebay. pinklather i am ofcourse a romantic. thankyou to whisker harvest.
I've had 2. Sold one. I use the second one to act as a base for other stones. I admire the way senior members are lining up to reply , though. Thanks applied.
At the time they first came out, 12k was a popular finishing grit, I would say,,,
I think the boys in Guangxi would have stamped it 30k, had that been the grit of the week. Attachment 130123
Yeah, they seem to be falling from favor. All the cool kids are now getting ZuluGreys and Nani12's.
Now I feel like Eddie Murphy with the homemade hamburger-sigh.
