So I just lapped the naniwa and now it's nowhere near as smooth as it was.. does this affect performance and is there a way to return it to factory smoothness?

ok thanks.. is there anything wrong with using the Norton lapping stone on the naniwa hones?
I use the same lapping stone on mine too. Works just fine.
