Default How do i remove small scratches in blade from honing?

Getting pretty good at honing and am thrilled with the edge I'm getting. However, I keep leaving a light scratch pattern on the blade from using too much pressure. Anyone know how to remove these without expensive equipment? Thanks.

In general sandpaper in progressively finer grits and elbow grease. Need a photo to really say what the story is.

Unfortunately, I don't have access to a camera that would capture these scratches. I can say they are not very bad and seem shallow. Maybe I could use a fine grit sandpaper but am unsure of what that would be. How fine do I need to go? I don't want to further damage the blade.

Go to the workshop forum in the main menu and look through the sticky threads. I'm sure one of them will tell you the way to go about it. TBH I'd leave well enough alone unless you are very ambitious and have a lot of time on your hands.

I think I'd be more concerned with the too much pressure part.

It's good way to remember the pressure part when you have spent 2 hours taking out those scratches :<0)

I have had quite a few guys over for a one on one session around the hones.
One thing I have noticed in addition to too much pressure is this:
A few of them honed all the way down the hone.
By doing so while adding pressure to the razor when sliding off the short end of the hone, it is pretty much unavoidable to get scratches behind the bevel.

I'm not sure if this is the case here, but I thought I should mention it as a possibility.

I've had great results with the 3M polishing papers:

I broke down and sent the razors back to my dealer for repair. Meanwhile, I am going to lap my stones and get some cheap practice razors to work on until I get this down. Thanks for your replies.
