Thanked: 4fix damaged blade
Hi SRP,
//First - background:
I bought a razor years ago, Kropp (vintage), and could not figure out how to make it work.
//Later - more background
I **think** some years ago, I suggested to my wife that she dig in the desk from something to open a package with.... Not sure if it happened or not, but it is the way I remember it.
In any case: The razor is damaged near the point - and it was not that way when I bought it.
//Now: Learning to sharpen and shave:
I noticed that when I shave with it, seems to NOT work right near the point....
To repair this, I decided to keep honing (using a barber's hone) until the entire blade is sharp.
So, I am learning about honing (using a magnifying glass t loo at the edge).
I am not quit there on the damage repair - but I am seeing evidence that the end of the blade is starting to get worked by the hone.
Did I approach this properly? The blade is still curved a little.
I did not know what to search for in the forum, I do not know all of the terms used.
Thanks,
Jody
