So about yo lap my naniwa ss but I can't find my DMT plate! :banghead: That issue aside I have taped the spine of two razors but am wondering if I leave the tape on for an extended period of time it will damage the metal?

Yes leaving the tape on will etch a line at the edge of the tape into the metal if you leave it on too long. That is if it has come in contact with moisture, as in, if you've already been honing. :chapeau
Haha I would actually feel better if you had seen it and stolen it so I would stop looking in the same places!
No havnt honed yet as I can't lap the plates.......no biggie just never thought of leaving it on before!
And I was about to hone the livi takeda steel with abalone scales I bought off you Jimmy!

Electrical tape can leave a gooey film on surfaces if left too long. It is not hard to tape a spine and tape is cheap, take it off if you don't hone today.
