Can't find my DMT plate.......
So about yo lap my naniwa ss but I can't find my DMT plate! That issue aside I have taped the spine of two razors but am wondering if I leave the tape on for an extended period of time it will damage the metal?

Sorry, haven't seen your plate .....
Yes leaving the tape on will etch a line at the edge of the tape into the metal if you leave it on too long. That is if it has come in contact with moisture, as in, if you've already been honing.

As it has already been stated, yes if there is moisture involved it will cause you grief!!!
Now! As to misplacing the DMT here's something to enjoy and possible think about!

Cudarunner that is brilliant! I especially love the end part with the answering machine! If nothing else it has made me feel better about losing my plate!
Just for the record I know that moisture = bad times for razors!

I figured that you understood the basics of moisture vs steel ='s 'Bad Things' but I believe in practicing the 6 P's!!
Here's another version of Tom's 'Looking for my wallet and my car keys' I like the into as it really puts things into perception! When you are turning 20 you can't imagine being 50 or 60!
I turned 60 this last August and it seems like just yesterday I graduated from High School in 1971!
