Default This blade is driving me crazy!!!!!

Well I have been working on getting the kinks out off smiling 8/8 fbu and I can get the toe nice comfy and sharp. Yet the damn heel won't take. I get my bevel set all the way across on a norton 1k(it will pop hairs all down the blade). Then once I take it to my 4k it seems like I have to start all over again!!!!! This blade is driving me batty! I have used both rolling circles and the rolling x. Hell I have even done some straight strokes on the heel with very little improvement. Any of y'all got any advice?

Sometimes you just have to put it down for a while. http://straightrazorpalace.com/honin...bing-over.html
A little something Glen did a while back.

Yes, you put it away for a while & re-visit it at another time.
Honing should always be a pleasure, a way of relaxing. If it becomes a burden or stressfull, then nothing good comes out of it.

I broke your post down, it should make it quite obvious that the Bevel is not completely set and that you are jumping ahead...
The heels on many of these old monsters were never set, and they are a major PITA to get them back inline with the rest of the edge..
Your initial assessment of the edge under Magnification should have showed you that, so that you could have started with honing the heel into line before,,,, working the rest of the edge... Basically now you have to catch the heel up, not fun, because you have to keep everything in a nice smooth smile...

Honing is always easy because when it gets to a point where it's not they just send it to you and you have the headaches. It's easy opening the package and having a proper honed razor.

Glen, that's what I had figured but wasn't completely sure. I more or less needed an experts opinion on what it going on. Thank you
