Prep Stone on Naniwa SS's?
Hey guys, any input on whether to use a slurry stone with The Naniwa 1,5,8,12k set-up? I seem to only have ever seen it being used with Nortons of natural stones on many of the honing vids I have come across. Thanks for any help. Honing is a sticking point I'm trying to hurdle. Have a great Thursday!

Thanked: 3795Norton and Naniwa Chosera provide prep stones--not slurry stones. They are used to refresh the surface. On the SuperStones you can refresh the surface with a diamond plate and leave the resulting slurry on the hone. This works to slightly increase the cutting power, or at least may you feel like you are.
I have never tried using any other type of slurry stone on a SuperStone. I never felt the need to do so.
