Thread: Wider Tape?

For those who tape and restore old fat blades (this is not a tape/don't tape question).

I haven't looked online yet, but figgered some of you have. On some of the biggass blades the normal 3/4 electrical tape just won't extend far enough over the bevel (1/4 spine gobble it up, then there's the second and third layer).

Do yous guys (in my fake yankee accent) use a wider tape* or simply apply strips to each side of the monster blades?

*I tried some clear hockey tape which is wider, but it's not very tough and is overly sticky.
