Crumbles, Cuts, and smiles.
So, I crumbled my first edge. Inadvertently, I grabbed a razor which had already seen my Fernsler Ruby and honed it again. Needless to say, after CrOxing and stropping the crumbled edge(of which I didn't loupe it) disappeared and microchipping appeared. It wasn't until after attempting to shave with the blade did it become all too evident.
I decided it was time to go back to the Nani 12K. I decided that the razor also needed company, so I picked up 2 other razors that were cutting the HHs, but weren't as mirror as I'd like. While deciding which razors would join the procession under lighting and a loupe, I managed to cut my knuckle as I moved the loupe down the length of the blade. Doh! Nothing major, just a polite warning.
10 or so passes on the Nani 12K and the chip was gone and all edges very nice mirrors. That stone is such a pleasure on which to hone. Otis and Milo on netflix in the background, my 9 yr old somewhat over my shoulder, zoning in on honing the razors, things were going well. Then onto the CrOx felt, CrOx leather, then felt as my daughter needed it all explained as I progressed through the process=smiles.
So, there you have it. Crumbles, Cuts and Smiles.
