Revisor stropping regimen
I took delivery of a Revisor 6/8 with a French head today. Sabine Kronenberg said they were manually honed and shave ready. Main question is, about how many shaves can I expect before first stropping? And how long before either a finishing hone or barber hone?
Got my first rough off the ebay through cleanup then honing to shave ready and a DFS. It was a Bengall just over 9/16 with a nice "Extra Hollow Ground" etched on the blade. After the first shave, it loosened up and I noticed it was missing a washer. Had to order more washers so got to the repein today. Will post to either show'n tell or restorations when I get the light box setup.
I went through the Hones forum and was interested in lengthy and numerous threads regarding Black Surgical Arkansas stones, so I decided to try some from 1K bevel set through Black Surgical and Transluscents. Stropped on CrOx on leather, linen then Latigo. The best I could manage was SAS. So will take the back to 8K, then 12K Naniwa.
