Nah. Hour and a half, maybe two the way I do it. I do sets of down and back half Xs; sets of 10 then 5 then 3 then 1

That's how you taught me, but damn there harsh, I tame them a bit with crox or a coti.

Yeah, Arks are good if you like it crisp but they can have a bit of a bite. A few dry laps on a coti as you mentioned will tame it right down.

Notice that every stone in that progression was a Norton Abrasives with the possible exception ot the calico which was probably a Smith's or a Buck?

That Lily White was a nice addition. It makes a nice step between the burnished side of the Nº 1 and the lapped side of the trans. Under magnification you can see a subtle but noticeable fining out of the scratch pattern. To the naked eye it goes from an opaque to hazy look. I love the size of that thing. 8 inches allows for long ponderous laps.

Makes sense where you put it. I have little experience with them but that one seemed pretty damn fine for a Lily White.

Jnat heaven tonight. Thiers Issard was went through tenjou to mierjo on the last session. This session I finished with koma and tomo on my Nakayama Maruka Asagi. Can get the edges too sharp on this but the kiita tomo pairs nicely.

Coming to a shave of the day near you! Went shapton 1k thru 5k , then over to my big ole brick jnat for a full nagura progression. The kyoei folding kami took a beautiful slightly smiling edge , that I think I'm gonna fall in love withAttachment 352055

First time, in some time I’ve needed to dust off the stones,,

Only had to refresh these so stayed with the norton 4/8k to Thuringian finish with a coti slurry stone.

Test shave with Bruno’s Damascus yesterday and was a lovely experience.
These are my mainstay’s in my progression of late.
