You have me curious Mike! I have a dark blue thuringerian that's a little harder than the Blue/Green Escher that I use. Did you raise the slurry with the rubbing stone or diamond card? I still bet it's a thuringian though, great finishers!

The slurry stone is a Thurigan, so your probably right.

Japanese Manaslu - By Nichiri M500
The bevel needed some slight pushes to even up went Chosera 1-5-10
Finished on the Nakayama gave a beautiful haze finish, continued on as the slurry dried and got the very fin polished a touch higher

Got six done on my Naniwas in this session.
1. Morris Red Imp wedge. This razor was my first restoration. It was also one of my first attempts at honing and it hasn't seen a hone since. Kinda funny to look at it under a loupe.
2. Wostenholm IXL faux frameback. I'm expecting greatness
3. Hoffritz 1/4 hollow. This one should be good too.
4. JA Henckels 4/8. I'm not too big on smaller blades like this. There's jus not enough weight there. This thing was ground perfectly though. A pleasure to hone.
5. J. Stoll solingen "HARMONIE". Another little guy. Honing for someone else.
6. Sanssouci looks like a bit over 6/8. Very nice grind on this one. Good weight to it too. This one looks like it'll be a good shaver.
When I first started honing I discovered that CroOx really made a big difference in my routine. I just kept using it after that because it "improved my edges". For the last couple of weeks I've been stropping on CroOx midway through my test shaves and discovered that it's actually having a negative affect(IMO). Looking at my old edge on the Red Imp it was clear to see that it was smoothing out my not so great bevels when I was new to honing. Now that I have much more experience I don't see much need to continue using it.
I've come to the same conclusion with cr/ox, only use it on a harsh feeling edge.
But I think the Henckels will surprise you, even though it light.
