Being my new SRD strop came in the mail today I figured I may as well give all of my razors a refresh on the coticule and test out the new strop. They all tree top again and should be good to go for a long time.

A NOS vintage Wonderedge never seen the hones, bevel set on Ol' Sloppy, no tape.

German steel likes coticules

Steel still showing up in the slurry, refining edge even more. finish w/ water

Prep for final finish, Y/G Thuringian. Really done here but lets see how far the edge will go??

Pushing the edge envelope, the Wonderedge will support the final edge. Shave WTG & ATG test positive.

Wow. It looks great! Like fingers on a chalk board I can hear some people cringing with no tape on that spine. I think it looks amazing though. Bravo! :tu
It’s an unknown European stone, similar to La Lune or Special stone. Hoffritz distributed.

Thanks Mike
The reason I ask, is because I've recently acquired a stone that looks similar, and I'm not that familiar with all the stones out there......yet. All I can say is, that after finishing on a 12k Naniwa, wich I find amazing, I'll do another 15-20 passes on this stone.
What it does to the edge is above the Naniwa 12k.
Maybe you can tell me what it is.

I believe it an Escher, but I've never seen one bofore.
Mike
It's not a Escher as a Escher is a labeled thuringian, no label, no Escher...however your stone really looks like a thuringian. Does it easily raise a slurry? Have a pic of the stone with slurry?
No it doesn't raise it easily Attachment 226750
Its a very hard stone, but will slurry
