Once you surrender to the Dark side / Jnats / , there is no thurning backQuote:
Negative! No jnats for me.
The Dark side of the force , is a pathway , to many honing abbilitys , some considered to be unnatural
SOLDIER, The Dark Force is strong within in you. Norton 4/8K is your young Jedi. Embrace your Dark side Luke jnats are your Father.
You just have to find your path. Education, Dont buy from Jobba the Hut. Obie Won will guide you when its time. And for first Sandglider was affordable.
We must strenghten your skills before the Force fully awakens. Thats all the Star Wars analogies I got. I still have to go see 2 of them.:jedi::jedi:
Play time with J-Nats

Then Atsu Asano Nagura, then 2 types of Nakayama Kiita Irmono stones and 2 types Uchigomori stone to bring out some contrast and see what we have-

a decent hamon and with something I wasn't expecting but am very happy to find, nie crystals formed. Needs more base polish, but I'll do that next time, now that I know there's a decent hamon.
Bevel set on razor quality Blue Aoto with Asano ban nagura and diamond plate slurry, this one from Kouzaki mine. True real aoto is impossible to find now but it's a real treat. It's long since depleted and is the workhorse of togishi (sword polishers) establishing edge geometry and polishing art swords, and by smiths in japan. It has been consumed fast by these professions, luckily some togishi and such were smart enough to hoard when the production was exhausted. Asano Ban Nagura is also hard to find, but it's great for setting bevels. I combined it with this finer aoto to bevel set and go through the 5k+ range. Could have just used aoto, but wanted extra power.

Then finished on a very nice razor quality suita with very light and even Karasu (flock of crows, because the pattern looks like a flock of crows against the sky) pattern to a mirror polish. No stropping, Dry Shave Test Positive.
Attachment 223833 So all in all it was a party of stones on the initial hamon polish, but I only used 2 stone +1 nagura stone to go from bevel set to polish finish on the honing. :tu
Haha I know, I know. But they are so pretty. My precious...
I just finished 5 razors on my newly acquired gem. The feel of this stone is remarkable. I found myself lost in a trance when I was honing the 15/16 butcher. Weight of the blade only strokes are magnetic!

I know what you mean. Asagi/Lime Kiita hybrids are some of my favorite when done right and yours is completely pure and consistent with iromono pinks- That is a top tier razor quality stone.
the honing feel is nirvana, it's so unique and magnetic, and the finish is, as you put it: insane. I think you're in trouble buddy if you try to chase the dragon on this one. Make sure to water her and feed her the best steels! If you get tired of her, you know who to call. :o
