This particular kamisori edge performed best coming off a coticule.

Germania Cutlery works from Norton 8k to Lynn Melynllyn Welsh slate on the left. Medium slurry, diluted to pure water. Morley and Sons Clover stamp on the right - From Norton 1k used Dragon's Tongue with heavy slurry and diluted up to pure water. Moved on to Lynn Melynllyn with light slurry and diluted to pure water. Final stage was water on a Black Welsh slate. Looking forward to the shave test, I think it's going to be a good one!

Just got this Hunter & Son wedge put all back together, and decided to finish on my newest stone. A boxed coticule that I'm still trying to figure out. It has a very gritty feeling initially, and is very quick on slurry. The slurry darkens on one pass. I set the bevel on my King 1k, and then went right to this coticule. Started with slurry and diluted down to just water and the edge is very keen. Need to do a test shave but if this edge is as good as I hope, I may finish more of my beefy Sheffields on this Coticule.

Not really honing anything, just trying to match up tomonaguras to a huge almost 4 pound (~1700g) hunk of Nakayama with a Sheffield Cutlery razor. It's not hard, fast and fine, but I've so far used it mostly to finish Japanese kitchen knives like the Takeda and Shigefusa. It is razor grade, but I've never really "gone the distance" testing this stone to get the best out of it for razors.
Cheers, Steve
