Default Morley clover brand hard to hone?

I am far from being a honemeister but I just honed two Morley and Sons razors from bevel set up to 12k and that was some kind of ordeal. I have never taken that long to set a bevel on anything else. Has anyone on the forum ever experienced difficulty with that brand or was it just an off day? Both were hollow ground Clover brand Morley and sons, the only difference being one was a Spanish point the other a barber notch. Never had any Morleys before and now that the ordeal is over they are sweet shavers but I was beginning to think they would never take an edge. Just wondering if anyone has fought them before? This post maybe should have gone to razors I wasn't sure figured someone would move it if I was wrong.
