I did the test without stropping and then experimented with the different strops to see any changes.

I think that no stropping accepted this challenge.:)

P.S. Unless you count the palm stropping before looking at it under the scope....:hmmm:

I've told countless newbies who are wanting to learn to hone that they need to do this test. I've always stressed the 'Off the Hone' shave; the 'Off the Cloth' shave and then the 'Off the Leather' shave.

This really shows what's happening during the process.
