Hello fella's... Hope everybody enjoyed the weekend.. So im having a little bit of trouble getting this razor to a nice keen edge.. Its a Sheffield Joseph Haywood & Comfy.. Half Hollow and has a thick n heavy spine.. When I first got it I sent it to Nates Straights.. When it got home it had a great final edge.. I did notice they put a quite wide edge.. Before taking it to the stone it was serviceable but needed touching up.. Went with 1 layer and to the SS 12000. After a number of sets of X- Strokes alnost no difference if any at all. Next ones i decided to lap the 12000 with a 180dmt and went at it again doing circles and x-strokes to around 50 total.. Again check and the same as before.. I decide to drop to 8000 stone and end with the 12000.. Dont know how many circles and strokes i did but it should have been plenty.. Still same result.. While checking with loupe nothing bad looking.. Bevel is good and with all the time on stone i didnt notice a second bevel.. Since the edge is not worse and should be no reason to drop to 4000 im wondering if thats what i need to do or is there something i might be doing wrong? The blade is a little frowny and i have not done a lot of rolling x-strokes before but have no problem trying if anyone thinks i would get results?.. Thanks for any advice and sorry about the long post.. SMWAttachment 302568Attachment 302569Attachment 302572Attachment 302575
