Does the shapton 12000 grit put as nice of a finish on a razor as a naniwa 12000
Not sure if this is going to make sense
The Naniwa SS series are expectational polishers, they were designed specifically to mimic Japanese Natural stones
The Shapton, and I am going to assume you mean the Pro / Kuromaku are better cutting hones, they might be more durable and probably more "Splash n Go"
If you are planning on eventually buying the whole set look at the overall cost and decide what makes most sense for later too
Already have shapton 12000 just wondering which one performed better
Hard to give an absolute answer.
Both will do the job tho experience & the acquired skill plays a bigger part than the stone.
You'll find old posts of guys that had trouble learning the Naniwa 12 but the Shapton is even less forgiving with beginners.
