Okay, problem solved. TM280 was so kind to offer me a coticule combo slurry stone, so the first question is no more relevant.

I think Jimmy is absolutely right, that's the advice I got when I started honing and once mastered the Norton 4/8 is a great tool. After you have the hang of them I have found that when I use a combo bout I get much faster results, and smoother. I use the BBW with the 4000,and the yellow with the 8000,you can see the difference within a minute as the steel is seen in the slurry, just thin it out as you grit to the finish and the results are better then either by them selves. JMHO
Hmm no one seems to have posted in here in a while......that just means ill have to buy a few more coticules to revive the thread!
Well just got a new coticule today. Lapped it and took it for a test run.
It was a nice feeling stone. Seemed kinda fast on the slurry but slower on the water.
Was told it's a le petite blanche
The first pic shows a little crack that I filled in with some ca glue and it's good as new.

I would join the Belgian Bro's in half of a heart beat...I love my coticles. /swoon
Here is my first Coticule.
It is a natural combo in select grade.
The size is 8"*3"
I bought this a couple months back and have had a lot of fun getting to know it.
It is a medium fast stone on slurry and rather slow on water.
A decent finisher, I'd say!
