You have the 1K/4K which are very useful in honing a razor. Get the solid Norton 8K and you will be set. Unless you hone for a living the 8K will last a lifetime.

If you paid $75 for the 1k/4k you might consider sending it back, unless shipping is unreasonable. they sell for $54 here http://www.theperfectedge.com/norton.shtml and the 4k/8k is only $65, best price on the internet.
Oh, it was $75 with the shipping and all added. I think it was $55ish and then the shipping was the extra. LOL
I think I am gonna send it back and just pay the extra to get thte 4/8k Norton. If I need more stones later on for resto stuff, I will get them then.
THANK YOU GUYS!!!:tu
You can never have to many stones...
Personally I'd keep it, but I'm a heavy stone user so I tend to need them :p
I vote for keeping it.
I use my 1K/4K when I have to take out nicks, or hone knives.
I use the 1K to take out the nick, and then flip the stone until it passes the TNT.
Then I usually put the razor aside to finish it the next day or so.
I've found that after 1 hour of honing to take out the nick, my technique suffers a bit.
