Uneven Filarmonica Doble Temple

I only have two shave ready razors, one of them is a Filarmonica Doble Temple from Classic Shaving. I haven't had to much success with it. It doesn't shave very well, and if I go over my face enough times to get a decent shave, I end up with razor burn. I've been stropping it a lot lately, and that seems to be helping it a little. But, I've notice recently that the two sides of the razor are not ground the same, and I'm wondering if that may be part of the trouble. One side is ground higher then the other, by a good millimeter. The edge can't possibly be even. I've picked up a microscope, and the edge seems smooth. So I'm thinking the angle has got to be contributing to the problem.

I sure would appreciate the more experienced members advice.

Do you mean the bevel is uneven? I suspect that is the case. That has little to do with shaving performance it's mainly a cosmetic thing. The solution to you problem is that the razor was probably not shave ready. I have one of those also and when I got it, it needed a fair amount of hone work to get it shave ready. Stropping alone will not do it.

You didn't say if you purchased the honing service with it. if you did then then maybe you misstropped? Show us a picture.

I'll work on pics, but let me clarify that I'm not talking about the honing, and the hone wear on the spine is almost invisible. The actual grind of the razor, the hollow that forms the blade, is higher on one side, then the other. And, I did have it honed before it came to me.

It is a little fuzzy, but you can see that the right side of the razor is ground higher then the left.
