Hi all

I have a yellow belgian stone approx 6x1 3/4 and I have been having some trouble with gettin razors to the required finish from it. The other night I was playing with it, along with a smaller coticule, and as I rubbed the two faces against each other there was a catch-point near the end. You could actually see where the dust was gathering and scratches in the surface of the smaller stone.

I did this a few times to determine the exact location of the sticky point, and looked at it under the microscope. Nothing. It is a much smaller atifact then others in the stone that do not stick.

I then flattened the stone again of course, and tried again - lo and behold the thing is still there, in the same place.

Anyone got any ideas about this?
