Pike Wireless advice

I just picked up this hone off ebay but i want to make sure I do the right thing using it. The instructions are no longer readable. I assume you would use water when using it, would that be correct.
Also, I want to give give it a lap, Any sugestions what grit wet & dry to use on it?

I have used 220 wet/dry to lap barber hones in the past.

Draw a pencil grid, lap till gone. Then do it again.

Usually water, or water w/ some lather and 4-6 strokes.

There is probably someone that owns one of these that will have more information though

I use 180 - 240 wet papers to lap my hones. Works ok.

I believe that the actual barber hones are used dry when honing razors. Can't see why not use them dry as well.

I'm not familiar with this hone but when I lapped my barber hone I found that it took forever with lower grit 220 wet/dry. So I switched to 80 grit drywall sandpaper and the lapping went much faster. As you sand with this medium it begins to fall off the cloth, don't clean this off. The grit gets caught between the squares and will continue to work. It is dry/wet and I used water with it.

Just found one of these in a tool box in my dad's garage - belonged to my mum's dad.
No box, just the hone.

Hi There, Adam here in New Zealand, How did you go with the hone? I have a chance to buy one and just wondered what you thought of it? any idea of a price for one in good condition?
