    Default My honing repertoire

    Hey all,

So I thought it would be pretty if I had a picture of all my stones together, so here they are.

The top row you can see my 220/1000 and 4000/8000 norton stones (both cut in half) and my norton diamond plate hone (325 grit). I just use the diamond one for any major lapping, and maybe for sharpening my pockey knife every once and a while. The norton waterstones are my work-horses, as I do all of my major sharpening/polishing with them. For the final polish I use the natural stones, see below...

And on the bottom are my natural ones, the ones I cherish the most.
On the left you can see my coticules. A large 8x2 one, very nice for finishing razors, a smaller vintage one that has a BBW backing, and my little slurry stone (also with a BBW backing).

On the bottom right are my thuringian hones. They're both "The Celebrated Water Razor Hone" (the larger one has a label on the back that you can't see). The small one in the box is a dark green/blue, and the larger one is a nice lighter yellow/green. I find my yellow/green to be a bit softer than my darker one, and a little smoother to use, but they're both awesome stones. The thuringians are very good for finishing/touching up a razor.

So there are all my stones, it's only going to get worse from here...stay tuned in the future, as there will only be more stones to come....
