Honing a Double Arrow?
All,
I've recently purchased a DA from Stamps222, and I knew in advance that it will not come shave ready. I'm looking for feedback from others that have received them. Will the razor require a bevel to be set at 1k and up through the standard progression of grit, or will it have enough of an edge that I can hone it myself with lappping film?
I'd like to learn to hone, but can't afford to purchase any hones at present. Considering the number of razors was low yesterday, I decided to make the purchase while I had the funds on hand to get one, and worry about the hone later.
I've considered getting a few sheets of the larger grit size films in addition to the finer ones, but I'd prefer to hear from others with more experience before I spend that money, especially since I am unsure how the micron measurements of the film are related to the grit size of standard hones.
Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks,
