+1 I started with ebay specials. Just try and get full bladed razors with no damage to the scales and no cracks or large chips in the blade. The less hone wear the better but some is acceptable. Micro chips are a given on many of the used blades you'll find. If you have a couple of razors honed professionally you'll have something to compare your results with. Randy told me patience and persistence and that is what it takes.
