    Default What grit

    I guys,

I have a combo honingstone but it doesn't say what brand or grit it is. Can one tell what grit it is by looking at it? One side is pretty coarse and the other side is finer.

What I think hi_bud means is that without a photo or two it is impossible to tell what stone you might have let alone what grit it might be.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

determining grit without any information is absolutely impossibly.
It can be possible to assume a grit range with very close examination.

Having a look at a good picture, we could tell you
"Oh no, don´t put a razor on that"
    or
"hm, might be something like 800/1.000 or 4.000 to 8.000"
