    Red face A personal accomplishment...perhaps

OK, I don't expect anyone else to get excited but I wanted to share. I have finally progressed to where I can get that Col. Conk surgical hone, that P.O.S. hone for $15 that every one says is 1200 grit....you know the one...to hone up a razor...I finally got a razor sharp enough to cut arm hair using nothing but the little Col Conk....

I consider this a great leap in my honing ability....there. If its not that big a deal...let me relish in my accomplishment anyway....it took a while to get it....

....and I still don't think its 1200 grit so don't get all excited about me being able to hone with a 1200 grit...thats not the point....

OK, OK, I know...on to the shave test....

    Ahhhhh,

Shaving was OK, nothing great. Not nearly as nice as the hair test eluded to. Off to the Swaty I think...

Its a Robison Sure-edge. I consider it my honing experiment razor. Its typically not very sharp and I never gave it much thought. I ran the razor over the Swaty and now its wicked sharp....I've been shaving with it all week. The razor has a lot of water stains, but now that its shaving well I'm thinking about giving it away.

Hey, as long as it works. I guess in the end you were just able to rough it in with the Conk hone? Or did the Swaty do all the work?
