when I dropped to the Norton 8 k I got micro chipping after 6 strokes
I was thinking about using one of my softer coticules instead of the norton, but wanted to see if anyone else had experience with this razor first

I seem to recall people saying that going to less aggressive hones can help. I think the Tam O'Shanter used to be popular for this. The Naniwa 8k is less aggressive than the Norton, or a coticule could do too. Maybe even a light slurry on your green one.

You seem to be doing a lot of honing. Was the edge in such bad shape to begin with? Use the highest grit possible and as few hones as you need.

the razor was brand new when I received it, but Not shave ready,, I started with the escher, and when that did not produce, I then dropped to a hard coticule, then to the norton. I know with my Friodurs, they need less on the lower grits and more on the higer ones, so I was trying to follow that same formula on this one, but I just cant get the edge where I want it.
After keeping a log on my razors, I know that each of them have their own formula to attain their maximum potential, so I was hoping someone had honed one of these before, and could lead me in the right direction
