Naniwa Super Polish
I bought this wonderful stone a few months ago and have found it to be a superb polishing stone for my knives. I used it on my razors expecting similar results. The funny thing is that I never got any razor really really sharp with it. Yes, I could get a decent shave, but not that special edge quality that we strive for. I just honed my TI Egyptian with 2 1/3 passes on my Kitayama 8k and Shapton Pro 15k as a touch up to see if It would improve on the Naniwa edge. I stropped with impregnated balsa at 0.5 and 0.25 micron as usual and this thing will pop any hair anywhere. I shaved with it and it was so friggin sharp that I actually had a couple of nicks from setting the blade, which is very rare for me. Note that this level of sharpness was achieved with all of 8 laps on the stones. Lynn says that less is more when it comes to honing and I am beginning to get it now.
