I've had a horrible time getting a wavy bladed Dovo to take an edge. 'Good help from a number of members, but still I don't get anything like my SS Dovo or Genco Fluid Steel. Today, on the Genco, the toe seemed a bit dull, while the center was okay, and the heel was way sharp. An extended session on the strop (canvase, then cowhide), and the edge was back in town. I can't understand how the difference could be so noticeable.
Anyone else experience marginal sharpness being corrected by stropping?
